As if Valencia Street wasn’t already a Foodie lovers heaven and prime brunch destination, now there will soon be (3) more reasons to roll out of bed and walk to “destination Valencia” between 22nd & 23rd — The Crepe House (Grand Opening was on 7.20) , B3 (Bottles, Burgers & Bites) opening on Wednesday, August 4th and Zaytoon (long anticipated and newly opened in June).

Have a look at what patrons and bloggers have to say about the newest spots in destination Valencia –

According to Eater SF, The Crepe House is an eco-version of the original (2). “This ambiance will be different, with recycled, reclaimed wood inside. We’re using more organic products than we were before.” – Bashar Haddadin Graded an “A” for presentation by Geralyn on Yelp (picture), we believe The Crepe House will be a nice brunch addition to the neighborhood.
Open 8 am to 10:30 pm | 1132 Valencia Street

Zaytoon is praised for its clean, simple and modern decor, fresh ingredients and perfect portions – Yelpers say order the shawerma, but don’t forget the falafel and the tabouleh. You can also grab take out side-dishes in the drink refrigerator for the perfect mediterranean dinner party at home.
Open Monday – Sunday 11am to 10 pm | 1136 Valencia Street

B3 – In the works to open August 4th, B3 seems the perfect pairing in the neighborhood. With a build your own Mimosa menu, a fantastic Happy Hour spread 4-6 and after 10 pm Tuesdays through Sundays and a tasty “Late Nights Every Night” menu (after 10pm) …all backed by Bouchon Alumns – how can you go wrong? Have a view of the full menu, compliments of Grub Street.

The SF Chronicle recently published an article on the eclectic and unique culture of our neighborhood retail shops that show how Mission is one of a kind to the core. Mission retailers offer locally produced wares to suit individual style. Pictured above are two hair accessories by Estrella Tadeo, founder of The Mission Statement , a designer co-op of 6 designers. The article gives us an insiders look into 6 local neighborhood retailers: Taxi CDC, Wonderland, Bianca Starr, Afterlife, The Mission Statement and Painted Bird.

“You’ll find something that you won’t be able to find at major retailers, something special that isn’t offered at other stores,” – Danielle Teller co-owner of Afterlife.

“The Mission has really set the style standard for the city, and I think people are coming here to find unique vintage items,” – Bianca Starr boutique owner Bianca Kaplan.

With all of the incredible restaurants and activities in our neighborhood, it was only a matter of time before a community market came knocking on the Mission’s door. This Thursday, July 22, marks the debut of the Mission Community Market on Bartlett Street between 21st and 22nd. The Thursday market will run from 4-8 p.m. and promises to be part community happening, part foodie/craft/artisan marketplace.

So what can you expect for the debut of the community market this Thursday? According to the SFWeekly foodie blog ‘A mix of farmers and prepared food vendors would include some La Cocina clients and other Mission-based small food businesses. …a youth play and arts space would be a distinguishing feature of the Mission market.’

Sounds like fun and a perfect fit for the neighborhood. We can’t wait until Thursday!

UNION is very excited about the recently-installed new public artwork, entitled Valencia Street Post – the newest improvement to our neighborhood. Located on Valencia Street between 16th and 19th streets, the four 10-foot telephone poles, created by San Francisco artist Michael Arcega, are outfitted with highly ornamental Victorian-inspired crowns and bases, which will be added later this month.

And this artwork is functional as well as artistically-pleasing. The public is invited to use the unadorned midsections as a community bulletin board. Take a look at the video below as the artist describes his vision and inspiration for this incredible addition to our neighborhood.

UNION has a lot of closings happening and plenty of excited new homeowners as sales completion nears. With that in mind, we thought we’d share one of our favorite spots in the neighborhood to find that perfect piece to make your new house…well, home!
Our philosophy mirrors that of Linden’s. Just as UNION believes that our community is part of a greater neighborhood experience, where Mission meets Potrero, Linden believes in the experience behind the form.

The website says it best: “At LINDEN each piece is an experience. Beginning with the concept, the collaboration of ideas and design, and the blending of materials and environment, we craft each piece with the utmost attention to detail and quality. The result is a unique product that draws timeless value from the experience…”

One of the best amenities of our neighborhood is the people within and behind it. The Mission is a true neighborhood community where people from all walks of life convene giving it a flavor all its own.

There’s a local movement brewing and Yaron and Miriam Milgrom seem to have it down to a craft making Mission part of their Mission, after falling in love with 24th street 2 years ago when the family moved to the neighborhood. Read More

Our award winning developers (Brad Stedem and Matt Fisher) stopped to give us a grin. This week UNION went on to win “Best Multifamily For-Sale Property” in the Gold Nugget Design Award program of the Pacific Coast Builders Conference.

The fastest-selling property since its October 2009 opening, Union is an enclave of residences featuring a perfect blend of the old and new in the resurging Mission neighborhood. Set in a creative hub that is home to popular restaurants, diverse galleries, and an incubation zone for entrepreneurs, Union is unified by an oversized courtyard, and ample underground parking garage that serves both buildings. Homes include 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom floor plans ranging from approximately 712 sq. ft. to 1,980 sq. ft. With only 3-bedroom floorplans remaining, prices start in the $700,000s.

Union is located at 2125 Bryant Street in San Francisco. Visit the Sales Office, open daily from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, or call (415) 824-8884 to schedule a private tour. The website is www.union-sf.com.
